Insidious is the terrifying story of a family who shortly after moving discover that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma. Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to realize that it was not their house that was haunted.

SXSW Discussion Panel

Join visionary director Duncan Jones and the cast of the SXSW opening night film (Source Code) as they navigate parallel universes, alternate realities and mind-bending explosions. Jones will be joined by cast members Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan as they answer all of your questions about the making of Source Code his highly anticipated follow up to Moon.

Based on the original show that launched Pee-wee Herman into an American pop culture icon, Paul Reubens’ beloved quirky character brings his Playhouse to life once more! “The Pee-wee Herman Show on Broadway” was shot at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in New York City in January 2011, immediately following the conclusion of its wildly successful Broadway engagement.

After over one hundred years of service, The Yankee Pedlar Inn is shutting its doors for good. As the Inn’s final days draw near, odd guests check in as the pair of minimum wage “ghost hunters” begin to experience strange and alarming events that may ultimately cause them to be mere footnotes in the hotel’s long unexplained history.

With a hand-made suit, a wrench, and a crazed sidekick named Boltie (Ellen Page), the Crimson Bolt beats his way through the mean streets of crime in hopes of saving his wife.

With humor and insight, THE GREATEST MOVIE EVER SOLD unmasks the marketing process to bring audiences behind closed doors directly into the pitch meetings and marketing presentations which ultimately inform our everyday entertainment decisions. Sponsors were provided with brand category exclusivity. Each of the brands represented in the film have sponsorship arrangements with Spurlock, placing him front and center in their brand campaigns and advertisements, both on and off-line. Partners have the unique right to promote themselves in association with Spurlock and the film as “The Greatest.” The agreements also stipulate that Spurlock maintains creative control of the film’s content and final edit.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for Universal Pictures' comedy-adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever.

Tom McCarthy once again explores the depths and nuances of human relationships in his new film about the allegiances and bonds between unlikely characters. Disheartened attorney Mike Flaherty, who volunteers as a high school wrestling coach, stumbles across a star athlete through some questionable business dealings while trying to support his family. Just as it looks like he will get a double payday, the boy's mother shows up fresh from rehab and flat broke, threatening to derail everything. McCarthy's deft touch with balancing drama and comedy, broken hearts and poignant humanity is at play in WIN WIN.

John Oliver’s New York Stand-Up Show is live at SXSW. In anticipation of the Season 2 premiere on March 24th, John will host a special evening with a few of his favorite comics from his eponymous Comedy Central series.






TUESDAY, MARCH 15th - 7:00 PM"Beginners"(U.S. premiere)

CAST: Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer, Mélanie Laurent, Goran Visnjic
“Beginners” imaginatively explores the hilarity, confusion, and surprises of love through the evolving consciousness of Oliver (Ewan McGregor). Oliver meets the irreverent and unpredictable Anna (Mélanie Laurent of “Inglourious Basterds”) only months after his father Hal (Christopher Plummer) has passed away. This new love floods Oliver with memories of his father who – following 44 years of marriage – came out of the closet at age 75 to live a full, energized, and wonderfully tumultuous gay life. Now Oliver endeavors to love Anna with all the bravery, humor, and hope that his father taught him.
